Dr. Hilary Worthen is an Internist who has practiced primary care in Cambridge for 25 years. A patient's undiagnosable illness caused him to spend a year learning the basics of molecular biology at MIT in Professor David Housman's lab. In 1994 he and Professor Housman co-organized the first national course on Genetics and Primary Care, and he has since maintained an active interest in the primary care of patients with genetic disorders. He is currently Medical Director of Inpatient Med-Surg Services and Director of Medical Information Systems at Cambridge Hospital and Cambridge Health Alliance, and Instructor in Medicine at HMS.
